We would like to thank everyone who took the time to complete the survey regarding the 2021 Sanicole Airshow. We have studied the feedback thoroughly and have taken many comments onboard for the organization of our 2022 event.
There is though one is a major change which we would like to announce!
Since 2010, the airshow weekend has had a fixed format with the Sunset Airshow on Friday and the full airshow on Sunday. In 2021, we had to shook things up a little due to COVID, by adding Saturday as a full showday.
For the 2022 event we will return to the well-known combination of a sunset event with the traditional airshow on Sunday. But the separate Sunset Airshow will not be on Friday anymore. Many visitors indicated they found it difficult to arrive for the start of the airshow display following a full day at work or at school. This means that Friday evening will no longer see a public event at our airfield. Instead, we will move the Sunset an airshow to Saturday. On Sunday, there will be our full airshowday, as we know it for more than 40 years.
We look forward to welcoming you again in 2022 with this new format. Plan your visit on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September 2022! Stay tuned for exciting news coming soon.

Slight change to the format for next year
Re: Sanicole Airshow 2022
Hoping I will get to go next year. New format makes things a bit easier
Re: Sanicole Airshow 2022
Begs the question about a KB photocall though.

Re: Sanicole Airshow 2022
I've been told that the Belgian Air Force is yet to make any decision regarding whether a KB Spottersday will be planned. With Sanicole switching to Saturday & Sunday for future events, I suspect the format of any spottersday will be different to those held before 2019. 2021 saw no display flying at KB at all due to the ongoing display at Sanicole and the Saturday did feel rather flat - not helped by many of the XTM participants being parked on the far side. The Monday was a far better day.
KB is due for some runway renewal works at some point though this has been delayed. If this clashes with a Sanicole, the fast jet basing will switch to Beauvechain as in 2010.

Re: Sanicole Airshow 2022
Swiss F-18 officially added
Last year, he was scheduled to appear at our show alongside the Patrouille Suisse, but last-minute operational requirements kept him in Switzerland. This year, nothing can stop him and we are excited to host the F-18 demo team of the Swiss air force at Sanicole.
The Swiss air force F-18 solo display team of 17 squadron at the airbase Payerne will show once again why their motto is ‘No angle of attack limits’ in a stunning display of extraordinary agility of their powerful frontline fighter. This display with non-stop action will show you why the F-18 is still the tip of the spear with so many airforces thanks to numerous upgrades that keep it at the cutting edge of jet performance. At times, it appears as though Captain Yannick “Fönsi” Zanata simply switches off gravity, thanks to the advanced control systems of his F-18.
Don’t miss this outstanding performer and schedule your visit to the 43rd International Sanicole Airshow on 10 & 11 September 2022.

Re: Sanicole Airshow 2022
The Germans will make a grand entrance at Sanicole this year with not one but two of their impressive NH-90TTH (Tactical Transport Helicopter). One of these state-of-the-art machines will be part of the static so you can admire it upclose and have a chat with the crews who will surely share their experience with this amazing helicopter, while a second NH-90 will blow you away with a magnificent demonstration of its superb agility, stopping and accelerating away, twisting and turning on a sixpence despite being such a heavy and large helicopter, all vital elements to survive during its operational deployments.

Re: Sanicole Airshow 2022
The French air force are masters at showing their capabilities through evocative and tight pair’s displays. This year, we will welcome one of these with the latest omnirole fighter in the French inventory: two powerful Rafales will thunder through the Sanicole sky as team ‘Requin Mike’.
These twin-engine high-performance jetfighters hail from squadron EC1/4 “Gascogne” and EC2/4 “La Fayette”, both squadrons with a long heritage to the 1930s. They are based at Saint-Dizier in north-eastern France and are an integral part of France nuclear deterrent. With the Rafale, they certainly have an aircraft able to rival any threat in the air or on the ground and their tight action-packed routine will show off their tactics for air intercepts and ground attacks to great effect.
Join us for this evocative role demonstration in on 10 & 11 September 2022.

Re: Sanicole Airshow 2022
In Europe, they are known as the Saudi Hawks, but they are actually called Suqoor, which means Falcons in their home country. They fly 7 well-known Bae Hawk Mk65 jet trainers in a lively green colour scheme with contrasting touches of white, the striking colours of the flag of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The team was founded in 1998 at King Faisal airbase and have already undertaken several successful European tours since 2011.
The team not only fly what is basically the same aircraft as the Red Arrows, but their varied display also shares some manoeuvres with that display, though they also include several unique manoeuvres linked to their home country Saudi Arabia. The team alternate between graceful formation aerobatics and breathtaking crosses by the syncro pair to showcase the skill and discipline of the pilots in the Saudi air force and they are guaranteed to stun you with their amazing display.
Join us to welcome this world-famous team back to Sanicole on 10 & 11 September 2022.

Re: Sanicole Airshow 2022
Part of the impressive and invaluable support of the Belgian air force to the International Sanicole Airshow are two terrific helicopter displays.
The first will be a simulated search & rescue mission performed by the enormous NH-90NFH (NATO Frigate Helicopter), flying with the legendary 40 squadron based at Coxyde. These famous crews are on standby 24/7 to provide assistance both over land and at sea and have saved countless lives throughout their illustrious history. The Belgian NH-90NFH also serve onboard Belgian and Dutch frigates during international missions.
Celebrating 30 years in service with the Belgian service, the renowned Belgian Air Force A-109 display team will also stun you once again with their ‘razzle-blades’ display helicopter. The display by senior-captains Jo Jacobs and Stijn Soenens shows the extraordinary manoeuvrability of the A109, a helicopter with a rich operational history since it entered service in 1992. Adding to the spectacle are the bright flares, intended as decoys for heatseeking missiles, but which provide exciting visual effects during an airshow, particularly during the sunset airshow on Saturday evening.
The remaining A109s are all based in Beauvechain and are mainly tasked with liaison, reconnaissance and medevac-missions. The display helicopter is painted in an eye-catching colour scheme inspired by the ‘razzle dazzle’ camouflage used on warships, intended to make ranging more difficult for the enemy.
Join us to watch these outstanding Belgian helicopter displays during the International Sanicole Airshow on 10 & 11 September 2022!

Re: Sanicole Airshow 2022
https://www.sanicole.com/en/flying-lege ... anicole-2/
Classic aircraft are always popular in the flying display at Sanicole and this year, we are proud two present two very recognizable types, thanks to the legendary Hangar 7 collection of the Flying Bulls at Salzburg in Austria.
Leading this classic pair will be the North American B-25 Mitchell. This classic was a twin-engined and twin-tailed medium bomber that served in all theatres of the Second World War, even at the eastern front! Despite weighing 15 tons, it is remarkably agile and its loud rasping sound will emphasize its highly polished looks.
The second equally polished aircraft will be the Lockheed P-38 Lightning, instantly recognizable thanks to its with its twinboom tail. This escort and ground attack aircraft from the Second World War has two engines and was one of first designs of Lockheed’s famous chief engineer Kelly Johnson, who later design some of the most revolutionary and record-breaking aircraft in the world, such as the SR-71. The P-38 was the first of these record-breakers, when it flew across the USA in just 7 hours from California to New York in 1939.
These two shiny aircraft will no doubt dazzle you over Sanicole on 10 & 11 September 2022

Re: Sanicole Airshow 2022
https://www.sanicole.com/en/belgian-air-force-a400m-fb/The latest addition to the Belgian air force fleet will pass by over Sanicole during our airshow.
The giant Airbus A400M succeeded the legendary C-130 Hercules and is fast making a name for itself. 8 A400Ms are based at Melsbroek, one of which belongs to the airforce of Luxembourg, and are considered game changers in terms of capabilities offered. They are used for both strategic and tactical transport across the world. It is far larger than the C-130 and can carry bigger and heavier loads over longer distances, and it can do so at higher speeds thanks to its revolutionary Europrop TP400-D6 turboprop engines. The first Belgian A400M arrived with the 15 Wing at Melsbroek at the end of 2020. The A400M is part of the thorough modernization process of the Belgian air force, enabling it to face any challenge in the future.
