I fully understand it's Virtual but since when did 216 Squadron's Tristars merge with 101's VC-10s and 99 Squadron get Hercules? :P

Just out of a more sensible interest, do you have scenery and airframe guidelines for which ones are used so everyone sees the same thing??

We merged them so our pilots get more choice of what to fly, but i see where your coming from

When you join we get you signed up on TOCC which is like a resource center, and there are links to scenery files from there which everyone uses so we all see the same thing. And the same thing for aircraft except we put the links on the forums

You would need a microphone becuase of the ATC bit on VATSIM and also we have a teamspeak server where we briefing rooms for each group. I am sure you
can pick up cheap headsets there don't have to be a real fancy one, unless you can get your hands on a microphone that's just on its own but you get all the background noise.

lots more info at our website please be aware that i am only 13 and i am not a senior officer, its just a little recruitment drive :P

No not at all, you actually have to request to take off and start you engines and stuff like that you defo do need a microphone there not that expensive

Look at this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/COMPUTER-HEADSET- ... 1c1a686e3c" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

*Insert token IVAO comment*

Two things, you may wish to check your helicopter bases, I think you got Odiham and Benson the wrong way round ;) Secondly, are you still using my Ce172 repaint or is there a new one? :P

Was a bit confused as well.
Why have your Seakings flying from Lossiemouth when they are all based at Yeovilton (as part of the SHF/CHF)?

Not sure why as a Virtual RAF you could not have the real aircraft at the proper air stations.

I would assume they mean the SAR ones at Wattisham and Lossie, otherwise they'd be RN ones - Or am I missing the point? (P.S. Rich, we need to stop agreeing, what's going on?! :P)

Hey,

Thought id clear a few things up, as i run the day to day operations at vRAF.

Our SHF flies the Seaking HAR3/A for SAR purposes from RMB Chivenor, RAF Lossiemouth, RAF Valley, RAF Leconfield, RAF Lossiemouth, RAF Boulmerand Wattisham.

Some of the Squadron "Mergers" (101/216 & 99/LTW) have been done so to ensure that the pool of pilots are not spread thin across a multitude of squadrons and keeps the admin side simpler. Have no fear, the Hercs are still flown from RAF Lyneham :)

@ davem - We have a reccomend standard airframes/sceneries for our member and tend to make use of the MAIW models to display others so that the frames are kept at a decent level.

@ coningsbycrazy a Mic isn't required, but it is recommended as then you can join in on Teamspeak etc, either way, we would be happy to have you!

As Connor has said, our site is currently under redevelopment, so the homepage is well out of date, so you will have to bear with us on that.

If there are any questions, id be happy to answer them, either in the thread or by PM/Email

(@ Chirs - im not too sure matey :P)

FSInn is the best for what we do, as you can get Peer to Peer Connections via Wippien. (all will be explained :P )

If i am right becuase i don't use this but i am sure Dunc will corect me on this,Wippien is a program that you can download free of the internet.Wipien is used
for peer to peer which when your flying on VATSIM if your flying in formation with a person it makes it much easier because you can see the other aircraft at the exact distance away from you.Now when i said i can't use it,it is becuase it only works on 32-bit computer systems.

Hope this helps
