100% agree. All the criteria remotely relevant to why we have 'Daylight Savings Time' has long since disappeared. For example, Coal-Saving in the early 1900's (whatever 'Coal is? ) & the energy Crisis of the early 1970's. There is good evidence that BST. is better for health & mental outlook reasons, particularly in child development.
Quite how one resolves having the actual GMT. in the country that is 1 hour forward of that is another hiccup! Allegedly many polls indicate around 60%-vs-40% in favour of permanent change to BST. but the government are not likely not consider a change until around 95% of the entire population call for it. I've got 16 time-based household, car & garage items to manually change in a modest 2-bed property! Whoops....forgot the cameras, make that 18!! :'(
Bearing in mind we haven't had a worthwhile nationwide referendum for some 16 months now, how about it?
1 here for BST. :thumb:
Until the Scottish and Irish complain AGAIN as happened in the past!! If you leave the clocks forward one hour on DST, in mid-winter it won't get light there in the morning until gone 10AM :grr:

It has been tried before and it was reverted back. There is actually no reason to put the clocks on to Daylight Saving Time (its not British Summer Time btw :thumb:) in the first place. Our clocks should remain on GMT forever and a day, absolutely no reason to change them forward and put them back.

Used Zulu time since being in the RAF. As far as I am concerned makes everything simple, especially when on holiday. It also upsets the wife :D :D

As the clocks have gone forward, guessing this means an extra hour should be added to notam times
