Unable to delete notifications on user control panel.

Have been unable on user control panel to delete notifications. Usually by ticking box marked read in past they have gone but now ticking box has no effect.
Am I alone with this problem ?

I’m the same, I think it stores the last 10. Can delete messages ok just seems to be the notifications.
