Headsup posts are becoming to cryptic
I am really struggling to understand a lot of the headsup posts in the last few months. Classic examples include missing out the aircraft type and talking about things without any context even if I look elsewhere in the topic suc as an example that sparked me to write this - 'it will be interesting if it unloads anything'
I am not normally one to whinge and appreciate all the input and hard work but am becoming more alienated by such posts.

Re: Headsup posts are becoming to cryptic
I have already tried to answer your issue in the specific thread (Lakenheath C-17A serial number 07-7174 callsign RCH317 or Reach 317).
As to other queries I have no idea - maybe best to ask as you go along - or PM (private message) the poster(s).
Hope that helps a little

Yes, there's far too much of that on here. It would actually be really helpful if aircraft type were also in the thread title. BOLLO usually does that and it's very helpful.falconfighting wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 1:25 pmI am really struggling to understand a lot of the headsup posts in the last few months. Thanks both for you polite replies - as I said there is a lot of hard work that goes into making this site great, just difficult and frustrating when you are reading a topic and have no idea what it is about.

Google doesn't help you when all you can put in, is a random callsign. Believe it or not - Google doesn't resolve everything.
A possible suggestion with head-up titles would be the callsign and aircraft if known.

To be fair, internet searches shouldn't be required unless for further research if interested. I guess many of us are guilty of missing bits here and there and forget to check whether all info is already in the thread. If in doubt , just ask and some helpful person will help out.
Re: Headsup posts are becoming to cryptic
it was in the Lakenheath thread? I'm almost certain there are LN F-15's in Jordan... most likely a local anorak missing seeing some familiar numbers.falconfighting wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 1:25 pmI am really struggling to understand a lot of the headsup posts in the last few months. That, or something spicy which transited through LN circa 6 months or so back (are there any F-22's or F-35's there at the moment)?
**Post will prob be deleted for asking the above question**

edit: 494th are out there since October, so should be due back soon, I'd imagine that's what the "cryptic" ref is in regards to...

That is correct but the reason I didn't ask can be seen two replies before yours thanks to the charming POLNighthawke wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 3:29 pmTo be fair, internet searches shouldn't be required unless for further research if interested. Re: Headsup posts are becoming to cryptic
The one that I struggle with is when a callsign for a foreign (non-US) air force is given without identifying it or even sometimes the name of the force is abbreviated beyond recognition. Googling never helps then either, unless the serial is given and cross-matches.
