View count going crazy

Any idea why the view count on my post on the "Indian Air Force "Trisonics", October 1990" in the "Warbirds, Replicas and Nostalgic Photography" sub forum increased from less than 4000 views to over 17000 views within a couple of days and still climbing? Is there some spamming going on or was it linked on a very popular site? Just curious. Cheers, Peter

Thanks, but it took 3 weeks to get to 4000 views and then two days to get to now over 19000 views which is another increase of 2000 views in 2 hours. This just doesn't add up.

I think viewing the photo section is open to non members, so obviously someone has linked your thread to an external website(s) and peeps are clicking it to see the content.

I think the term is "you've gone viral"
