Private Messages Weird Behaviour
So a couple of times over the last month, on arriving at the forum, the private messages link next to my user name has had a red bubble saying "(minus)01"
Clicking on the private message link takes me to my inbox which is empty.
Any ideas about whats going on?
I have updated my password.

Re: Private Messages Weird Behaviour
The same thing happened to me this morning, I've no idea what caused it.

Could it be something to do with the accounts being hacked perhaps? it makes sense for black hats to try gaining information through private messages.

Re: Private Messages Weird Behaviour
Nothing from mods or admin, which seems strange in itself, but then the issue did not occur on logging in tonight, so perhaps its sorted?
Re: Private Messages Weird Behaviour
It's been a bug in phpbb3 for years. I wouldn't read anything into it.

Had it happen 3 times over the last 11 days, never had it before. Ever.

Re: Private Messages Weird Behaviour
Years? then why has it only started in the last month and why (fingers crossed) does it seem to have stopped after a password change?
Re: Private Messages Weird Behaviour
Yes, years. It's a bug in the software that this forum and hundreds of thousands of other forums use. You changing your password has absolutely nothing to do with it.
Re: Private Messages Weird Behaviour
It’s happened to me too, twice recently, with the second time coinciding with everyone else’s reports of it happening. It’s the first time that I can remember that I’ve experienced it since I’ve been on the forum, but I wouldn’t read into it.
As far as I can tell, it isn’t malicious.

So I've been delving into this using the phpbb .com knowledge base and have failed to find anything related to it. Could one or both of you provide an external link so I can read up on this bug please? Not only would this help in expanding my knowledge but also for peace of mind.
