Cockpit-Fest 2017 – 17 & 18 June 2017

Post by NAM Updater » Mon Mar 06, 2017 6:31 pm

Details of the first exhibitors signing up for this event have just been posted on the museum website, so I thought it would be a good time to start this thread.

Cockpit-Fest is a regular feature in the aviation calendar and this year it is scheduled to take place on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June 2017 at the museum. The event allows people to get close up to many cockpit restoration projects.

As the event draws closer I will try to provide updates to advise what is going to happen, what is being exhibited and I will also try to answer any questions that may arise. The event also features an outdoor Aeroboot / Aerojumble aviation sale.

That's great news and what a Birthday present for me...a Spitfire and a Hurricaine over my stall on my Birthday.

I think the fact it was your birthday was one of the factors that helped secure the flypast for us T1!

See you in June!

Footnote: We've just received the confirmations for the August 1940s event as well! I must start another thread for that event!

Hi NAM Updater

Must remember to bring my camera in June...don't want to miss the flypast of two of the greatest aircraft to fly and defend our skies.

Well done to all the NAM Team for securing this special addition to a great day for all to enjoy.

The August 1940s event sounds very interesting, I will look out for the new thread.

See you in June if not before.

Best rgds

Thank you for your comments T1 - for us the real stars are the BBMF allocation team who make the decisions; just need to make sure that we get all of the paperwork (6 sets of it) signed up and returned!

Roll on May, June & August - unless anyone decides to do any practice runs around these parts! :ninja:

Wow...it gets better...are we anywhere near a record with this amount of stall holders?

Can't wait to join the party and have a great day with everyone.

We're getting close to it - back in the day of just turning up if it was a nice day.

More contacts since the earlier post including one seller 'rocking-up' at the museum at lunchtime to pay his dues!

Any rough times for the BBMF yet, or is like last time and they will phone on the day?

T1 layout looking good this morning, first 'facilities' etc. arriving in Southfield Site.

reaper493 initial feedback (3 weeks ago) was pm, but still no call yet this week to firm up possible timings; always subject to a telephone confirmation call on the day of the event. Last advice still Spitfire both days! N.B. the Saturday Cockpit-Fest flypast can also be complicated by the Trooping The Colour flypast in London.
