After the HANG North meeting that is being hosted at the museum on 12th October, we have been able to retain the services of the Royal Institute of Navigation East Midlands Branch Astro Van, which will now be on-site for the Indoor Aeroboot / Aerojumble event on 14th October.

The Astro Van was a very popular display item at our Shackleton / Hastings Anniversary event in May and features various working navigation items including: Smiths periscopic sextant, Hughes hand held bubble sextant & an Astro Compass Mk2 on a stand. This will hopefully provide some additional interest for the aviation enthusiasts who will be attending.

Additional seller lists/details have been added to the website, plus we’d like to remind people that the museum admission fee for the sale this Saturday has been reduced to just £4.50 per person – gate open to buyers at 9am!

Some key advice for the event on Saturday from our website:

“Admission £4.50 per person {this is to recognise that some stalls in Hangar 2 are in front of the exhibits, which means that they cannot be viewed or photographed in the normal manner. Stallholders will stay on site at the event until 2pm, but we still suggest that you arrive early to seek the best bargains}

A cash only admission point will be available in the Southfield Site area for direct access to the event from 9am; but all card payments will still need to be made via the Museum Shop entrance.”

I would just like to say a massive thank you to both yourself and Ros and all the NAM Team for all the hard work put in to make the day so very enjoyable

Also would like to say thank you for the complimentary coffee... to the cafe staff for a brilliant job and to the lady who provided the bacon butty's... Wow they were very nice and exactly what was needed to get the day off to a great start

We had a fantastic day with lots of sales... it was great to meet some new faces... Hunter 49 it was great to meet you today and I enjoyed our chat... Jagmadandy... always a pleasure to see you mate.

And finally... thank you to all my regulars for visiting the stall and to all the new customers who came and found a bargain..

It is nice when things work out well and when everyone seems to have a good time - the way that I look at things Aeroboots still have a great place in the aviation calendar and the personal face to face banter certainly beats typing in bids on a computer or tablet!!

Hi NAM Updater... your very welcome and I totally agree with you, the face to face aviation created by these aeroboot events, is really the very best part of the day.

I had some very interesting conversations yesterday with regulars and new customers alike about various aviation related themes from the bygone era to the present day covering airfields, bases, aircraft, patches and collecting aviation memorabilia.

An absolutely fantastic day and long may it continue.
