Highlight of my year was the Jaded Thunder exercise at Otterburn, where not only were we treated to some great canon fire from the A10's and some nice pics of them, but two of these Killer Eggs were working the range, and we got loads of pics of them. This is one of my favourites.

Built for war and lovingly preserved by the veterans who flew it. Sunset in the smoky mountains.

My favourite was not only catching this Hellenic Air Force F-4E Phantom arriving for RIAT, but also having two F-22's parked in the background. Definitely old meets new.

The start-up procedure on a Hawker Hunter, using a special gas cartridge which then spews black smoke from small vents after firing. Taken at Bruntingthorpe August 2016 during the display of 'Cold War Jets'.

Having shot similar angles at Brunty over the last few year it was a nice surprise to find they were shuttling people down the runway to allow for this shot..

A toss up between the Coningsby Nightshoot in March and Cosford's Jaguar Taxi day for me - however, I've gone for this Typhoon shot as it was featured on the BBC News website recently!

All in all a fantastic year, so many to choose from ( in my humble opinion

) but I am going to plump for a little action shot. Taken at RNAS Yeovilton Agusta Westland Merlin HC3i ZJ137 takes part in the spectacular end of show airfield assault. A bit of warmth to close out the cold of winter
