Starting a thread for info on this exercise. Usually there is some action at Carlisle for this. Putting in the Spade section, but any info for the whole area involved in S. Scotland/N. England would be appreciated.

Came back from Newcastle this morning approx. 1130am and plenty of dutch hardware (25-30 trucks/landys) making their way along the A69 westbound.I'd assume from your comments Geoff that they will have been heading towards somewhere in SW Scotland as opposed to Carlisle this time (Poss Castle Kennedy or West Freugh).

Drove round by the airport approx. an hour ago.Roughly 8-10 Army vehicles parked up with 4 Oshkosh tankers also in attendance.2 with hoses out to the middle of the apron.
1 Apache sitting stationery and 1 Lynx also stationery parked up at the top end of runway 01/19 (ECM end)
Didnt look like much happening as I went round but can't comment on movement the rest of the day.

Thanks for that Toom317a.I would assume there will be some movements in to Carlisle either overnight or tomorrow as it seems there is too many tankers there for 1 Apache and 2 Lynx.
Im sure someone will provide an answer in due course.

Chinooks x2 and in the afternoon 1x 9A were shut down at Spadeadam, though the Lynx appeared to be at Berry Hill the Chinooks sounded and appeared to lift more from near the radar tower area. At 1900L 1 Lynx and Chinook landed on at Carlisle for fuel while the remaining 3 aircraft (Lynx, Chinook and AH) were still operating the range Chinooks USL from Prior Lancy way between 1700 and 1900L. No visual sign of Merlins or Pumas from myself all day, although Warlock C/S was noted in the area along with C/S Omen, a C-130J.

Just to add to Duanes report. All together there were 3 C-130's on the range early afternoon, all under Omen Callsigns. Believe two foreign (1 possibly Swedish) the other RAF. Intended on para drop but cabcelled due to low cloud cover,
