Carlisle as Friday am. Puma XW204 went into Spade for testing and returned late morning to fuel. It departed early pm after it's week long stay using the Puma Mike call sign.
3 Apaches on the ground have all gone tech. One is in Stobart hangar the other two on apron. ZJ187 is confirmed as machete 1 which departed for air test at 16:30 to SW Scotland. Only one landy and truck are parked up, no body on the lorry so presume a mobile workshop. Carlisle not a base this time round, I got told at 15:00.
Perhaps will see some action through Spade as they come Northbound. Monday afternoon was very quiet up there with only 1 tornado at medium level. I haven't seen it posted but a tethered balloon was notamed earlier in week.

Came back from Newcastle this morning approx. 1130am and plenty of dutch hardware (25-30 trucks/landys) making their way along the A69 westbound.I'd assume from your comments Geoff that they will have been heading towards somewhere in SW Scotland as opposed to Carlisle this time (Poss Castle Kennedy or West Freugh).

Yes DR from Annan spotted the convoy Westbound on the A75 so suspect you are correct.

Thanks to NS courtesy of Milscanners for the other 2 apaches. ZJ187 Machette 2, ZJ221 Machette 3.

Thanks to all for info.

Can anyone suggest best place at West Freugh to watch the action without the MOD getting tetchy? :)

South Side nearest coast. When on public land they cannot touch you at all. I got stopped and reminded the provo that all i was doing was spotting and not actually on the restricted area. he couldn't do nowt about it. See this pic I took:

They went on West out to Stranraer so I'm guessing with Castle Kennedy now hot with Joint Warrior they were heading that way.
