Action at Carlisle commencing 3rd April, 2013.
A couple of my friends flew into Carlisle Airport recently. They received information from a local correspondent, that the French Dutch and English, were coming to Carlisle Airport from the 3rd April, 2013. no mention was made
of what types were coming, it requires a little detective work by our other local correspondents.

It would tie in for the usual Dutch TAC Blaze. I pass the airport every Monday so will start calling in for a coffee and asking some questions. Hopefully a JW deployment as last year would be nice

Ha Danny ill give you a shout if I get any info
Re: Action at Carlisle commencing 3rd April, 2013.
None of the various Gov mil sites seem to want to put any forward notice of exercises, so info seems very limited and no clues that I've seen of any spring Dutch Tac Blaze, so it'll be interesting to see how this pans out - we live in hope! Anglo French possibly, as greater co-operation - as per recent Otterburn ex.

Hi Danny, Looks like my friends got duff info, I've spoken to Geoff (Thursday Boy) tonight, he went to Carlisle Airport yesterday, no sign of any military activity either transport or exercise road sign markers. Just for info yesterday Thursday I saw a number of Dutch vehicles the types associated with TAC at Carlisle.
They were lost in cramlington guessing they took the wrong turning off the a1 from the ferry.
I'm off to work sat morning in Carlisle so will check out the airport on my way past an report.
Ex starts 8th so guess some choppers will arrive Monday morning.

Confirmation to all that the Dutch have arrived and mobilization has started. Usual position for compound and I would guess roughly a similar size as per previous exercises. The hard standing for helis has been patched/resurfaced. Lets hope we get some decent weather for the next 3 weeks of action.

Have any aircraft showed up yet... or do we know which aircraft are coming... no doubt the Chinooks will be coming
Re: Action at Carlisle commencing 3rd April, 2013.
Thanks for the confirmation Geoff - cameras to the ready, comfy seats waiting in the car boot, and lets hope the MoD open that lovely red & white café at Wiley Sike in time for the action! It was bitter there last week on Thurs and, despite two FC members enjoying the bitterness in their open top car, I'm all for sunshine and warmth.
See you there at some stage no doubt, if not at Wiley probably floating down the river gorge after failed attempt to cross to the other side!
Regards
Chris

Great news, can't wait to get down there. I remember last year for the start of the Spring JMC there was a bit of heli action on the Sunday prior to the exercise starting, and a whole lot of military kit there. I was hoping for the same again, but with the Dutch being there as well, and grabbing their usual spot, I don't know if we'll get the same amount of pre exercise traffic on Sunday 14th.

Dutch equipment now on site not as much as usual so still plenty room Danny.
From the spot lights and fire extinguishers possibly upto 6 choppers at a guess.
Probably go up Tuesday morning
