A busy day at last at Spade with all the Ex Hawk Owl helicopters (Chinook, Merlin, Puma, Lynx, Puma, & artic camo Seaking) using the range early afternoon today in very variable weather conditions.
As noted under RAF Leeming thread, the pairs were splitting into 2 ops at Spade, with one working the Berry Hill area and the other working the Wiley Sike area. For the last pair, while they were flying low level a Harrier came to join in at mid level.
Other aircraft using the range included Tornado GR4 (possibly 2), Harrier (possibly 3), Hawk and a Grob Tutor having a good time exploring the various parts of the range. All aircraft were seen individually and I wasn't able to id them, so some may have had well separated visits. A Harrier pair were also in the range/Hadrian's Wall area as we left at about 4:30/5pm
Photos (if they come out ok due to poor light conditions) will be uploaded either here or to the Current Military Aviation photos thread hopefully later tonight. With other low level use of Spade too, it turned out to be a good spotting afternoon there despite some heavy showers and mixed light.
