Just back today from a Week (since Monday) up in Brora, WOW when the GR.4s go over oh my goodness some sight, when we weren't out on a trip we were watching the GR.4s from a distance on various approaches to different targets. Also went to Falls Of Shin and was only in the shop for 2 minutes when WHOOSH, sounded like the shop was about to be blown apart.
Small question, when they first join the range are they meant to circle over Brora Bay? Where we were staying near the Golf Course they swoop in low mostly in formation is that just for one target or do they do that while joining the Range?
Did you know that registration to Fighter Control is completely free and brings you lots of added features? Find out more....

First Run Attack (FRA) Low Level Routes - FRAs are designed to practise a semi-tactical attack run, where the aircrew choose a route into the Range normally at 500 feet but, on ocassion, at 250 feet, the normal heights for low flying. Once the weapon is delivered onto the target, the aircrew either depart away from the Range or enter one of the academic patterns. Essentially, there are 3 inbound FRA routes:
1. From the east, over the water via the Tarbat Ness area.
2. From the west, via Bonar Bridge then down the Kyle of Sutherland.
3. From the south west, via the Cromarty Firth.
