You're spot on Gary - yesterday was the first Typhoon hot strafe on a UK AWR and there should be plenty more to follow! The 27mm Frangible Armour Piercing round used by Tornado & Typhoon requires specially prepared targets, of which the only two in the UK are at Holbeach & Tain.

The NOTAM for yesterday was for a Cranwell based Tutor to conduct a practice display. It cancelled due to weather, but will probably re-book in a week or two.
