Hi Guys,
If this is the right place to ask, just how close can you get to the Holbeach range, may be returning to that area in a month or so, may take a detour to visit for a few hours?
Any more info' appreciated.
Cheers
Pune

When it's active this is one of the easiest RAF stations to view from, with a grandstand seat on the action.

There's a couple guides worth reading
On Target :- RAF Holbeach
Thunder & Lightnings - RAF Holbeach guide
Tuesday's and Thursday's are probably the best day to visit

From reference to Thunder & Lightnings map, I would always drive to point "F", from where you can watch each plane come round on approach to whichever target. Strafing on targets 1 & 2 would be directly above your head at some 10s of feet - the excitement with the Harrier was don't duck - the excitement with the F15s was they would report people on range (not correct, public footpath).
Marham Tornados often come through straight after take off doing a dry run on target before going on route.
Sadly, a lot less activity than previous years, but if you catch a ground controller week then it will be good.
