Great Spotted Woodpecker

Lovely shots. How did you get so close? We are lucky that we have them visit our garden daily and have had a male and female together.They are very flighty though and soon retreat if you get too near

Very nice :thumb: I've had a couple of these on the peanut feeder but they'really very hard to capture any sign of movement and away they go.

Thanks , yes they are very jumpy so keeping still is the only way.

Thanks, yes Indeed they fly off at the first sign of movement, so keeping still and patience is required. Ive had a lot of wasted time :ninja:

Lovely set of photos. I particularly like the one where the woodpecker has just launched itself from the tree.
