Animal pictures from South Africa

Went on a trip to South Africa in August 2017 and spent some time photographing some of the animals. I went to Boulder Beach, Simons Town to look at the African penguins which are also known as Jackass penguins due to their noisy call.
Then travelled the Garden route and stopped at the Garden Route Game lodge for 3 nights and managed 5 safari tours out to watch the animals.
Followed that with Whale watching in Plettenberg Bay and also to Monkey Land Primate Sanctuary at Plettenberg Bay where the monkeys roam free so they do come right up to you as they move around between the trees and the ground.
Hope you enjoy seeing the pictures.

Nice pics. Been there in 2019. A little bit of jealousy because I didn’t spot a Cheetah in the 3 weeks I was there.

Lovely!. My favourite country, very beautiful, though it has a lot wrong with it!!. Got great video, over two trips. Never saw a cheetah, despite three days in Pilansberg and 4 days in the Kruger, where we got charged twice by bull elephants. Scary.......Superb pictures from you, and great memories revived.

Fantastic set. Lucky enough to have lived in SA for 3 years and I absolutely loved it. Yes it’s got issues, but it has these beautiful animals as well. Add the fact that you also have Whales and Sharks you have the true big 7 experience! One minor thing, the picture you have marked up as an Impala (or the McDonald’s of the game parks as it’s frequently called) is actually a red hartebeest.
