Moth ID

Post by aenstrop » Fri Nov 06, 2020 12:20 am

Anyone able to identify this moth that I saw yesterday while at RAF Lossiemouth, not taking photos of aircraft obviously!

Image by Alan Paterson, on Flickr

Thanks in advance.

Al.

I'm no expert but a quick look at my British Wildlife book suggests, by the squiggly mark on the wing, that it might be a Silver Y, a migrant visitor from southern Europe usually seen May-October.
