Lakenheath Fen 19-20th Sept

Post by Ross Forsyth » Mon Sep 28, 2020 2:03 pm

Headed down to Lakenheath to catch some fast jet action while I had some time off from work and decided to head down a couple of days earlier than normal to spend the weekend there, the plan being to spend time at Lakenheath Fen and Lackford Lakes.
After being advised the best hides at Lackford were still closed I decided to just spend my time wandering around the RSPB Reserve Lakenheath Fen seeing what I could find.
A little to windy really for the Bearded manboobs! but still managed some shots, and unfortunately the only 2 times I saw Bittern was flying low across the top of the reeds when I was in a bad position to try and photograph it!
Anyway here is a selection of the other birds and beasties i found.

Great crisp shots. The Ladybird and the Dragonfly in flight are fantastic. What camera and lens did you use?

The Bearded tit were using Canon 1DX with 500mm and the smaller critters were all taken with the Canon 5d Mk3 and 100-400mk2.

Thanks again guys
