Red Deer

An early start yesterday to take advantage of the clear skies at dawn to photograph the Red Deer rut in Richmond Park.

Using the 70-200mm F2.8 wide open to catch the first light:

Switching to the longer lens as the light improved and allowing me to keep a safe distance....

This is why you maintain a safe distance - charging at speed..

Such majestic creatures and beautifully captured. You certainly wouldn't want to get in their way!
