Hi All,
Been back at home for a couple of weeks and managed to get about an hour walking round Stanley Park in Blackpool. This is a lovely park situated in the middle of Blackpool, well worth a visit and full of interesting things to photograph.

First one's a Lesser Black Back though it's suggested they do inter-breed. I'm damn sure both species have nested within Kendal this year for the first time.

I'm no expert but I think your flower is Purple loosestrife, commonly seen in wet habitats. It certainly looks like what we have round our garden pond!
