Not a budgie

Got home tonight and found this beastie sitting on top of the roof. I've consulted my i-Spy book of birds, and deduced that it's probably not a budgie or a swan. Anyone tell me what it is so I can tick off the correct thing and collect the right number of points.

Cheers
Malcolm

Thanks. Heavy crop of a 400mm lens on a 50D body. This thing looked quite small - are they big enough to scare away the A380 sized Seagulls that normally infest the area and sh*t over everyones cars?

The bird in shot is a male, the female is quite a bit larger

Nice Pic
Not quite sure how they would fare against a large Gull but I know around these parts (NE) they've started falcon patrols around various seafronts to scare off some of the Gulls.

Whilst scanning the hangars from the lockdown bedroom window this morning, I noticed the following sitting on the garden fence
Looks like a bit of a porker compared to the one from 6 years ago, assuming it's the same flavour of budgie? Certainly the local sparrows and pidgeons were giving it a wide birth, and a couple of magpies weren't very happy either.

Great pic
As you say, it looks a bit chunky.
If it hadn’t been for lockdown, it would have been a safe bet to say it had been foraging along Takeaway Alley in lower Middle Street after a busy Friday night!

Ahh, Takeaway Alley. Where the culinary delacicies of Bombay, Peking, Hong Kong, Napoli, Istanbul and the US deep south all mingle to form a cosmopolitan and fragrant oasis in the (cholesterol choked) heart of South Somerset.
