The feeding area was lit by four radio controlled flashes linked to my camera and another four to the other photographer, they were positioned left, right and centre in front and one below behind but diffused.
The photo below shows the general layout, the Owl has been taking food here for four years and takes no notice of the flash. The LED panel was for general illumination when placing the food. The Costa coffee cup was used for manual focus of the lenses in advance of the Owls visit and then removed. It's feeding it's young at the moment so was very active. Lens was 100-400mm set at 400mm on a crop sensor Canon 7Dii. Hope this helps.
