I see that Syerston is to host the display practice between January and April, presumably with a view to this becoming permanent. So is Tuesday truly the end of the Reds at Scampton?

The Reds are believed to be doing an ISP Tuesday morning over Scampton, recovering in to Scampton after, then a 2nd ISP in the afternoon recovering in to Waddington.

All remaining a/c will need to be out by end of October, the white Xs will be painted on the runway shortly after and the remaining kit will ripped out of the tower mid November.

HHA are moving their remaining kit via road.

Indeed, something you learn to take for granted. I often see them practicing in the distance from here in northern lincolnshire, sadly no more.

Sorry if I’ve missed any reports, but where are HHA relocating to please?

Any news on the contents of the Scampton museum hangar. F-4F and Su-22 both of HHA were displayed/ stored there.

I thought they were stored outside and have been for many months if not longer.

Scampton 22 landed five mins after the Reds - Scampton 17 in the circuit at Waddo at this time and Scampton 23 is inbound.

As of 17:00 there is just one Hawk remaining in the Red's hangar on maintenance, no leaving date known yet.

The Scampton MATZ will be formally "collapsed" at the end of December. Probably noted elsewhere but RAFAT are the only operators of the Hawk T1 and The Black Fleet (School of Aviation Medicine etc) have now all been repainted in Reds colours. As noted dont have smoke pods but could be quickly converted if required to keep the RAFAT team with standby airframes.

HHA removed their F-4 , Hunter T8 and Su-22 from the museum on the 11 August .
I understand that there are or were plans to build a new visitors centre alongside the visitors car park off the A15 but I don't know who will fund this or if it will come to fruition ?

As I posted on the Reds Compliment" thread, there are a number of "non-smokers" but they do carry the pods. They can be identified by the extended fairings aft of the fin and lack of nozzles emerging from the tailcones.
As far as "could be quickly converted", not unless BAeS produce the conversion kits any time soon.

Nice to see nine (seven) smokers but the more airframes available the better. Smokers or not.

Another illogical decision. Collection housed in a historically significant hangar and adjacent buildings forced to move and build something new (and smaller) in the car park next door.

Is ZZ191 not currently airworthy?
