I am having a clear out after another house move..
Hardback book "Raid on Qaddafi: The Untold Story of History's Longest Fighter Mission by the Pilot Who Directed It"
Excellent book on the 1986 raid by F-111F's from Lakenheath bombing Qaddafi.
Great read and fabulous insight into the USAFE workings.
This book is signed by F-111F crews from Lakenheath.
Only 1 copy of this book available.
Anyone interested? Not sure on a price, what is it worth? Book is quite rare and only 2 signed by crews, I have the other!!
Did you know that registration to Fighter Control is completely free and brings you lots of added features? Find out more....

Re: F-111 Raid on Libya Signed book
Were the crews who autographed the book involved in the mission/bombing? Is there any evidence to support? are they mentioned in the book? are they known for anything specifically or are they just 2 random pilots from the squadron?
Re: F-111 Raid on Libya Signed book
I think it is signed by 'crews' and is one of two signed copies rather than signed by 2 of the crews. I have also sent a pm asking if it is dated as i am interested in a signed copy (already have an unsigned one and agree - a very good read)opsjockey wrote:Were the crews who autographed the book involved in the mission/bombing? Re: F-111 Raid on Libya Signed book
Sorry for the delay in replying.
The book is signed by about 15 pilots/wsos from the 48TFW.
The names of crews involved in the raid have never been officially confirmed so I cannot confirm if this was signed by the actual pilots from the raid. No names are mentioned in the book.
The book was signed in the early 1990's.
Cheers
Kevin
