Telescopic Ladders

Does anyone have any suggestions on which telescopic step ladder is the best to buy? I’m looking to change my current step ladder as it is too bulky for the car. I also need one that can hold 18 stone but can get me high enough for the high fences at some of the bases without the need to touch the fence. I’ve seen plenty when I last visited a few bases last year. I’ve looked on B&Q but they seem extremely pricey. Any advice is much appreciated.

Would highly recommend Telesteps Combi. 2.5 and 3.5m folding steps which both fold nicely into the back of a hatchback and are very solid. Only downside is very heavy (15kg for the shorter ones and 20kg for the larger size) but they are worth it having tried various other options. They are not cheap either but if you want something that fits in the boot then that’s the best option.

Jeepers! You could get a decent lens for that price. I'll stick to ground level.

I believe that refers to the straight ladder but as with all things there needs to be a certain amount of common sense when using them. Always check the locks are engaged before using and maintain the ladder as best you can.
A service engineer I worked with did however tell me that their company had withdrawn all telescopic ladders from use due to the risk of the locking mechanism failing.
