NTM Beja Portugal what an awesome line up 1996

Post by fisherman » Fri Feb 14, 2020 4:56 pm

Beja 96 greeted us with an impressive lineup of incredibly diverse aircraft types participating on the spotters day and public airshow day. From Tiger Moth to (HO) F-117 stealth, numerous T-33s, T-38As to (LA) B-52H, not to mention all those other types.

As this year will see Beja host another NTM and the first since 2002 with those EL B-1Bs, I thought this might be an appropriate time to show some of the transparencies taken back then.

Great set of images you have there, really fresh-looking too! I think it's a given fact that they can't touch this for quality or quantity in 2020, but some of that blue-sky stuff would be appreciated! :thumb:

Thanks, Supra, I'm thinking blue skies and no NTM :(

I'm inclined to agree that the deferred TM-20 July date is unviable. With Sanicole cancelling their event in mid-September 2020 it's the clearest acknowledgement so far that this year is a write-off in respect of all mass-gathering events! Clearly a shame in respect of anniversary events such as the Duxford 80th Battle of Britain Show, but this pandemic & essential ongoing precautions is more of a focus!
From a selfish POV I would like to see Beja retain the next-in-line right to host the Meet. Therefore I propose TM-21 is held at Beja in VERY early May next year. That would mean that my cunning plan of NOT claiming a Voucher refund for this May 15th until the last minute, would allow TM-21 to be within the 12 months validity of the Voucher? ;)

I have to agree with you, they should just roll it over into 21. If the World has heeled it could be the best ever NTM, the only worry is that money could be a big problem moving forward :(
