BEST SIM
Revvin' up the engines.....listenin' to the howlin' roar...metal under tesnsion..beggin' you to touch and go!
Re: BEST SIM
There is no such thing as a "best sim", sadly!
FS9 is a great mix of performance and visuals, with some great add-on's.
FSX, if you have a high-end PC, the graphics are amazing. Again, some great add-on's.
X-Plane 9, and shortly X-Plane 10, have the most amazing flight dynamics going.
I don't use any of the more "gamy" sims, so I can't comment on those.
Personally, I use all 3.

Re: BEST SIM
My 2 sim's of choice are FS9 and IL-2 (FB+AEP+PB addon's). I prefer my air combat old school so for any fast jet action I have a few jets in the FS9 hangar :-)

FS9 is my all round favourite
Lockon Modern Air Combat I like too
IL2 I haven't played for a little while but the scenery and realism is stunning
However I spend most of my time on FS9

Re: BEST SIM
Get Flaming Cliffs 2 for LOMAC and you'll have an incredibly good modern air sim. Also DCS Blackshark if you're a fan of helicopters (same engine as FC2). Same developers are also making an A10 sim and an Apache I think
IL2 is the best for WW2, though that could soon be surpassed when Storm Of War eventually is released (made by the same guy as IL2, but has been being developed over the last 5 years or so )
I don't have it, but a I believe Rise of Flight is a pretty good WW1 simuator. Might be worth a look at
For Civil stuff it's a choice between FS9, FSX and X-Plane. All have their merits, with X-Plane being the most realistic handling wise, but FSX having brilliant visuals and very in depth immersion. FS9 is good for lower end PCs as it looks good but still runs on older machines. The other benefit of the Microsoft sims is that there are millions of freeware and payware addons for them that you can spend hours playing with
