Spadeadam - a question

Post by johnwickenden » Fri Aug 28, 2020 3:33 pm

Hi folks

A question regarding the Spadeadam ranges if you dont mind.

Is there any public road that actually gives views across to the "Mock airfield " site? If so, could anyone let me have co-ordinates?

Many thanks
Its gonna rain, its gonna rain till the levee breaks, a tidal wave of fear and pain washes us away, another fight into the night until nothing else remains, how do we find harbour from the Hurricane?

There is no access road to the mock airfield setup and they dont like people going to it either. I know there are photos of people going over but it is highly frowned upon. Also the road which gave access to the range was closed because of the amount of idiots causing mayhem at the gorge waterfall just after lockdown was eased, when it was nice and sunny. Not aviation folk, just general public with not a care on how they behaved and the litter they left. I am not sure if this road has been re opened or if it is still closed. This meant any viewing from wiley sike etc was stopped by car. You could still cycle and walk but it was a long way from the road closed barriers. There was talk of it becoming a permanent closure so its probably still in place.
