Noted heading north on a wet and windy M40 near Warwick on a low loader, at around lunchtime was a Fairey Gannet. Anyone have an ID for it or know where it was going. Thanks in advance. a321

Thanks for that. The rain was so bad, I only just recognised it as a Gannet.

It was thanks to the carp skiing weather up at Aviemore in 1975 that I spent my first time outside an operational airfield: Lossiemouth. Jags of course, three Gannets on the ramp and another coming off the North Sea, Shackledraggers and for good measure a Vulcan (XL390 I think which later 'brought it' in Malta?) arriving for a few approaches and a Dutch Neptune flying over the top.
Lossie it was where I caught the bug. Bless them all especially the contra-props.

It was XL390 but it stalled while doing a wing over during a practice display at NAS Glenview Chicago 11th August 78, crashed onto a refuse tip killing 4

Thanks Vulcan; knew it came to grief, but not sure on the location.
Sad either way.
