Re: Reds Departure
HHA removed their F-4 , Hunter T8 and Su-22 from the museum on the 11 August . I understand that there are or were plans to build a new visitors centre alongside the visitors car park off the A15 but I don't know who will fund this or if it will come to fruition ? Another illogical decision. Collect...

Nice to see nine (seven) smokers but the more airframes available the better. Smokers or not.

Re: Robin Hood Doncaster to close.
Doughnut by his name, doughnut with his post with disparaging remarks. Sorry been away on holiday so first chance to reply. To pg1610 and all the others who have poked fun. The fact remains aviation jobs lost and low paid jobs are not equal replacement. For interest average pay for warehouse £9.13 ...

Re: Robin Hood Doncaster to close.
Low paid 24 hour shift warehouse monkeys do not equally highly skilled aviation professionals. Ok there will be a small number of low paid cleaners, baggage handlers, etc but that would be a small part of the employees. Check out the lists of civil operators basing aircraft and servicing them at Don...

Re: Cobra Warrior Take Two 2022.
Perhaps those local to Waddington can contact the local authority and ask them to explain their action on road and layby closures. Remember these things cost you local tax payers money !!!! If there is a restriction on the general public going about their lawful actives then due notice should have b...

Re: Cobra Warrior Take Two 2022.
The closure of the layby not only affects spotters, what about the lorry driver who use them for their rest periods or over night stops. Find it almost illegal as I do not believe there has been any public notice posted ?

Re: Cobra Warrior Take Two 2022.
Given the layby closure and number of "no parking" cones down the A15 anybody would think POTUS or G7 was happening ?
There are a dozen fast jets on base, and I doubt all of them will fly on the same day.

70th Anniversary event Monte Real 18th September 2022
Anybody have more details of the airshow listed at Monte Real air base ? Will be in Portugal at that time and interested to know if its likely to be a full flying display airshow or more like a local base open day. Anybody have a base email contact, the one on the website has been "bounced" back. re...

Re: Cobra Warrior Take Two 2022.
The road closure notices of the local authority to the last couple of Cobra Warrior exercises was an over reaction. Assume they are not bothering this year. It is not as though twenty ++ aircraft are going to line up / land in one go. If idiots stand in the middle of the road then that for the polic...

Re: Why go from f22 to f35
"Why was the JSF competition done as X32/35 when the ATF was YF22/23 ?" The JSF project was run to prove the concept of a VSTOL fighter to replace the Harrier. Each had different design solutions, X-32B rotating nozzles , X-35B separate lift fan. and thus were funded as research. The joint services ...

Re: Lakenheath back to full strength
I'd imagine the rest of the month will be on the quieter side now. Not sure if the exercise starts Monday or not but I'd imagine it will be for 2-3 weeks. Edit. Exercise ends on 22nd July. With the exercise ending Friday anybody heard when the F-15/F-35 with return to Lakenheath ? Fingers crossed t...
