Re: Groom Lake Su-27
It's ok it's all above board, thanks. I've followed that blog for a while and is popular in the US, so he ran a quick article.
Amusingly the first response on Twitter was "its fake, it's photoshopped "!
Thanks everyone here for all the generous comments, btw.

Re: Groom Lake Su-27
Haha, well I actually didn't bother 'graphing the non-existent base this time. I did the Tikaboo Peak hike in 2009, but once was enough for me. You can see the base clearly, but its 26 miles away and you literally have to stare at the base through your scope to detect anything moving. What surprises...

Groom Lake Su-27
Hi All, I stopped by Tikaboo Valley, near Groom Lake, last month and was lucky enough to watch a Su-27P Flanker-B dogfighting with an F-16, presumably one of the four Groom Lake based -D models. The quality of these pictures is low as they were operating between 20 and 30 thousand feet and my old fa...

Re: Chinook o/h Porchester 12/7/16...
I picked up ZH902 on my SBS in Winchester between 1643 and 1650 between 700 and 800 feet, callsign BOE 22, squawking 7000.
That height / squawk would fit in with the test flights I pick up regularly out of Fleetlands, so almost certainly your Chinook.
Cheers

Typhoons over Portsmouth Fri 8th July
Hi all, My Dad saw 2 Typhoons perform a flypast over HMS Dragon at Portsmouth around 1400 on Friday 8th July. I was at Fairford at the time, and have a theory that these were the 2 that did the F-35B and Red Arrows Flypast shortly before that time ('FL' and 'ED' I think), and promptly disappeared. C...

Emsworth, Hants, Fri 8th July
Hi all, My Dad saw over Emsworth, Hampshire, what he thought were two Typhoons low level, heading away from him. Time was 1400 on Friday 8th July and they were south / southeast bound. That would be pretty unusual down this way. To be honest they could have been any fast jet, judging by his previous...

Nowra & Williamtown, Australia, Feb 16
G'day all, A recent family holiday down under allowed me to visit these bases in New South Wales, Australia. Nowra (HMAS Albatross) was busy with Squirrels, Bells and Seahawks. An E-7 Wedgetail also performed an overshoot. The FAA Museum here is very good and has a viewing deck overlooking all the a...
