Re: Odd Help Request - AgustaWestland Structure

Ben, Looking at their website, they are a subsidiary of Finmeccanica, one of the leading players in the global defence industry. If you have a look at this website http://www.finmeccanica.com/Holding/EN/index.sdo" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, as a listed company in both the UK and ...

Mildenhall 14.3.10

G'day all, Got up this morning and rushed over to Mildenhall for Decee91, had I known it was going at just after 11 I could have had a lay in!! Anyway here's a few snaps that were taken. Oh, this is also my first time using Photoshop Elements for some cropping and they don't look overly sharp so apo...

Re: Farnborough 2010

I was going to note that the DoD have made the request, as always though I don't believe anything until it touches down (or in the case of a B-2 flies through). I would have thought that the B-2 would fly through from Whiteman, apart from one Riat where it refuelled and an Air Fete at Mildy this has...

Re: RIAT 2010

Rule of thumb, if it's going to Farnborough it stands a good chance of being at Fairford, the DoD have made some murmours about participation and it looks like the F-22 will be there and last time they flew from Fairford for the first day and then on home, for the Farnborough list see here http://ww...

Re: Cranwell 04/03/10

They use them for ground instruction I believe so that the 'trainees' can practice marshalling them etc, therefore they need to keep them in a taxiable condition. There is a similar thing down at Culdrose where they have a few Sea Harriers for simulated deck handling skills

Re: Farnborough 2010

Looks like an F-22 for RIAT as well then!! Lets hope this show is better than two years ago as it was flippin awful, poor static and the flying wasn't much better. Hopefully this will be a good guide for what is going to be at RIAT as there is some sort of agreement that each show will help each oth...

Re: Alternatives to going on base for arrival days @ RIAT?

Martin, I've found the link for the Totterdown website..... http://www.totterdownhillcampsite.co.uk/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, I've never been there I'm afraid, I'm always the other side of the fence but when I finish the volunteering whenever that may be I'll have so...

Re: Alternatives to going on base for arrival days @ RIAT?

The field you were looking at is Totterdown Farm, if they're using 27 then the fast jets will generally climb out over there for their displays.

Re: USAF bases

You'll find a B-2 at Whiteman, Missouri. I would imagine though that spotting might be a wee bit difficult there though. You could always try the USAF museum at Wright-Paterson AFB in Ohio, it's got one on display in the museum. http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil" onclick="window.open(this.href);retur...

Re: 56 RQS

Hi Tankbuster, The HH-60's are based over near the nature reserve, basically if you go into Lakenheath village and follow the nature reserve signs then it will take you straight down to the crash gate and the HAS's where they are kept are directly ahead of you. Be warned though I was that side at xm...

Mildenhall (Have a good valentines day sir) 14.2.10

Greetings, As I've got a week off from the other half I had an absolutely freezing cold day down at my local, all for three movements!! A personal first for me was the two AFRC Galaxy's on the ramp. One other thing of note that I haven't heard before was when anyone in the afternoon seemed to be fly...

Re: RAAF F-111 Waddington?!

I'm not overly fussed about the museum piece, there's one at Duxford already, it would be great to see one for one last time though. It would bring back loads of memories of the late 1980's/early 1990's when they used to fly over our house when I was growing up, amazing planes and so much power, sha...

Mildenhall 6th Feb

G'day one and all, I thought I'd just post some pic's from today's cheeky hour down at the 'Hall', my first jaunt out there for quite some. For just the one hour it was quite interesting, even more interesting when the C-5 landed in the fog that quickly rolled in and no tail was seen for at least th...

Re: What is the place called near Norwich airport?

Here's the link for Flixton http://www.aviationmuseum.net/...." onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. if you're making a day of it the pub does some reasonable grub as well.

Have fun at the City of Norwich Aviation Museum if you go, it's small but there is a lot of history there.
