Re: RAF St Mawgan De Havilland Mosquito
The only act of vandalism at an air show that I can think of was at IAT 83 at Greenham Common, when a group of Peace Women protesters infiltrated the airbase and threw white paint over the SR-71 that was in the static. They also painted a KC135 during the same visit, I was on Litter collection duty...

It'd be a good photo op to put the pods back on & go off tankering in Airline livery.Dave Smith wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2019 1:43 pmBeing returned to Airtanker. Expect TC vinyl to come off in th next day or two and returned to suport RAf trooping flights.

How about some A310 MRTT's with Booms
Then you could utilise the VIP fit A330 for Long trips, An A310 or 2 in VIP fit for shorter Trips.
Then we can also refuel all of our nice shiny toys that don't use probes.

Re: ITV series - Fighter Pilot, the real Top Gun
I enjoyed it from start to finish. It was obviously a PR exercise for the F35 hence the Typhoon being seen as 2nd Best (Although clearly not in the looks department) The F35 is somewhat growing on me though, must get to Marham at some point & seem some live one's, maybe wait till we have a few more ...

Could be that the F35 he was trying to hover was missing the VR Hotfix V1.11

Maybe it was the backseaters last tour or suchlike before leaving either these shores or the USAF totally, so was his way of saying goodbye.

Re: Blue skies?
My take is if the day is grey, the pictures are grey.
If the sky is blue the pictures have blue sky, Sun & I remember that cracking day I had at XX
Personal choice though
Ps I'm still learning how to use photoshop/lightroom so changing the sky is also well over my skillset unless it's a preset.

Re: Plane Spotting Live
OK it may have been a bit cringeworthy for those of us with some knowledge but we need to remember that it's aimed at the mainstream public. Case in point my son (aged 13 lives with his mum) sent me a msg last night ' Hi Dad, Been watching that Plane Spotting Program on TV, have you been to that pla...

Re: Extinction Rebellion
From what I remember of Greenham 1983 I don't think the 'camps' were near the run-way ends; on the Sunday I stayed outside to the south to graph the flying display abeam centre field. There were encampments in the trees there. Myself and a pal parked up in the layby on the A339 and walked through t...

Re: Extinction Rebellion
Thought I heard an interesting little story regarding the SR-71 Blackbird at Greenham I think. Apparently the protestors got in and doubed the Blackbird with something - paint I think. Anyway apparently come departures day the crew decided to get their own back by staying low on departure then full...

Hi all Last weekend I went to John Lewis in Bristol to pick up an 80D. There were none in stock so went for the 7D Mk II. Still in its box at present but can’t wait to use it. Still progressing through the manual lol Thanks for all the comments and advice. Can't recommend the 7d Mk II dummies guide...

Re: A10 65 Field access
Unfortunately it's getting to be all too common now, look at the carnage when the F22's were over. Not only is trespassing, blocking roads etc. an issue but the littering was shocking, the trouble is there's those of use who respect the rules & those that just need to post their photo's on Instagram...

Re: Machloop ban
Isn't the Ban on the loop every other LFA's gain though. Seen loads of pictures recently through the lakes etc. which were previously very few & far between. Maybe part of the 'Ban' is also partly to get rid of some of the multitudes of people who seem to be there daily not always respectful in wher...
