So would they travel up the east coast and then head towards Iceland at some point today?
Already been posted (in the GOLD71/81 thread) transit via Azores routing not North Atlantic I believe(subject to usual caveats)

Serials for Apaches on all tracking sites are invariably wrong, they always require the Mark 1 eyeball treatment!
And you’re gonna need a very good eye to read most of them from a distance too :P

Also to add I believe the land was sold with a clause saying it can’t be used for a business purpose, ie spotters area/campsite as per ‘Johns field’ either style either.

Re: No parking on roadside

Would we still be allowed to park up at the side of the road on the grass verges which leads upto the viewing area. Many people park here when the viewing area is full and vehicles can still get past. Not heard as confirm as yet but I think no parking will be enforced on here too. Those verges were...

Re: Mildenhall Based Aircraft Current Situation

V22s 12-0063, 12-0065 have left the unit (end of December) and yesterday evening two replacements arrived 0057 (a previous resident) plus one other that is unconfirmed at the moment. Just note; The serials of the ‘new’ arrivals have yet to be confirmed and apparently both aircraft are hangared. So ...

Re: Selfie film?

Probably more than one camera...... The selfie filming (which personally I think looks crap) is on one take and other coverage a second camera or even drone footage on a second take.
I expect those walks we’re filmed over several hours or even days. Not just on one take.

Having experienced some pretty rough runways in my time I am surprised that a quarterter-inch deep, half-inch wide scrape can make any difference to an aircraft. Maybe fighter-jets are more fussy.
I’d say it wouldn’t affect landing or take off as such, other than an increased risk of punctures.

We will have to wait for the relevant LN notam to be sure, but don’t expect any flying between Christmas and new year.
What makes you say that?
Because they haven’t flown between Xmas and new year for the last two or three years, not expecting this year to be any different.

Re: christmas closure

No notam has been posted for LN closure as yet. But MH is closed the following:
23 DEC 23:00 2020 UNTIL 28 DEC 06:00 2020
30 DEC 23:00 2020 UNTIL 04 JAN 06:00 2021
We will have to wait for the relevant LN notam to be sure, but don’t expect any flying between Christmas and new year.

Re: CMB 454 767-200 inbound LN [RT/PP]

I never understand why the civvies that are used for these trips aren’t scheduled to arrive after normal F15 flying hours. Even the Military normally manage to bring the heavies in after and depart them before flying starts early in the day. Can’t be that hard to organise surely.

Re: USAF F-35 Display Team Lakenheath display December 2021

Playing devil's advocate, putting the information on this forum will only encourage people to go to Lakenheath, perhaps there is a message there. It's a year away, I'm sure LN will put in place plans if this is an official display.. maybe the base will be open for parking to avoid the local road ch...

Why didn’t they get delivered direct to Wattisham? Because the runway at Wattisham is U/S. It was suitable for heavies only but not fast jets up until a few years ago. From latest AIP: “Use of Runways The largely PFC surface has considerably exceeded its design life (DIO AD maintenance inspection, ...
