Re: 20-10-12 Gliding With Cadets!

It has only been 3 years since i did my GS at Watton but seems like forever ago! Unfortunately never got to solo due to poor weather during 2 days of our course (although this did result in a nice trip to Lakenheath for a base tour and a look around an F-15D in one of the HAS's). Being on the approa...

Re: Aviation Patches

Gary,

The Osprey guys had stuff they were selling on one of the pontoons of the ospreys. Just had to wander up and ask.

As for the B-2. They started selling stuff at around 8:45. Think they had sold a 3rd of them within 5 minutes. (went to the B-2 straight away so was in right place at right time!)

Re: Aviation Patches

My annual patch hunt occurred over the weekend and happened to coincide with a small show called RIAT  Not a large haul but i am happy with them. Starting with a nice, but not exactly rare one from the 494th. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8003/7545001704_a1794db359_b.jpg Patch2 by DanielMon...

Re: FC Competition - Helicopters

Hi,

Been a long time since i've been on here! Just saw this comp and was wondering if it would be ok to enter my 1/35th Mi-24. It has been a work in progress for nearly 2 years  But should be finished up tomorrow. So is it ok to enter or not?

Some nice looking builds entered already.

Re: So a new Aviation year...

Planning on attending my first overseas airshow this year, just a short trip over to the RNZAF 75th anniversary airshow at Ohakea. Haven't heard any details apart from that it is going ahead but looking forward to seeing some Aussie and NZ stuff as well as possibly a USAF display. Hoping to do RIAT ...

Re: behind the scenes at linton

I have just got back from Linton myself, was there on an ATC camp for the week. Shame you went on the Thursday as the weather was very nice on the Friday and very busy due to the lack of flying on the Thursday.

Some nice shots of the flight line and hangars (i didn't take my camera with me).

Don't think it is the air con as that comes out by the rudder pedals of the back seat.

Re: Music thread

Is that the DVD/CD set Monty? Its a twin CD set, the first CD being the original album plus B - sides (like aneurysm) and a few live tracks . 2nd CD has various different versions of most of the songs. Most of which haven't been released before. Seeing as i hadn't owned a copy before it was quite a...

Re: Canadian Wildlife

Seeing the humpbacks bubble netting must have been simply amazing! I am planning a trip to NZ and am really hoping to get some decent pictures of the marine life down there.

I also like Canada's answer to speeding up roadworks - employing the local elks :P

Re: Rugby World Cup

Good game by Ireland, surprised that the australians could not cope with their intensity towards the end of the match. On a separate note SA looked very ominous against Fiji, you almost could not believe that they were the same team that played Wales. Could end up with SA Australia in the Quarters n...

Re: Rugby World Cup

Boks were really poor for most of the game this morning. wales should really be kicking themselves for not closing out the match. So far it looks like a two horse race between the Wallabies and All Blacks, and i have a sneaky supicion that the Wallabies might just spoil NZ's party :ninja:

Re: Rugby World Cup

Well, not the best start for England but a win is a win. Seems like nobody has really sparked from the 4 matches so far though.
