Re: Tues 9 July

Would I be right to assume the two F16s that departed earlier were the ones I saw land at approx 1030 am ?

Re: F16s

As the problem F16 has just been been pulled to the side of the runway , I guess awaiting repairs, is there any chance of something decent bringing in replacement parts ?

I have assumed that the local snap-on tools guy wont have the necessary parts in stock ?

F16s

Just at leeming now - one F16 halfway down runway with fire crews around it ( looks ok ) and one F 16 parked across at hangars - sorry no bins with me so can't ID them for you.

Re: DUE: 23/04/13

Could well have been blue - seemed to have a sand coloured "collar" around the engine just below the rotor if that helps at all.

Re: DUE: 23/04/13

Just left base with Transalls outside hangars to Northn with no activity around them at all - rather swish looking helicopter just taxied and departed to south - looked civilian - any clues to registration would be appreciated

Thanks

Re: CTM2017 22/02/13

A brief visit at 2.30pm this afternoon revealed what looked like a BAE146 on the apron.

Unprepared without my binochulars I didn't managed to read it off ( really must just leave them in the car ! )

Re: NOTAM- 6th of December

Called in at 3.45 in the optimistic hope that there may be some interesting visitors for tonights exercise.

Apart from 5 gunships on apron and the usual smattering of Hawks nothing too exciting there sadly as yet.

Hi All

Does anyone know the serial of the HS125 currently parked on the apron - think it ends in 4 ( I am sure when I was younger it would have been an easy read ! )

Thanks

Tornado

Quick visit to Leeming at lunchtime ( 12.50 ) provided the rather good sight of Tornado ZA398 in a very snazzy colour scheme.

It departed at 12.55pm.

Re: Ex lightning force. Ah64

Hi All,

A brief visit this morning at 11.45am showed all six AH64's on the ground outside the North hangars.Impossible to get any formal ID on any of them.

A twin prop ( excuse my rustiness but it looked similar to a Beech Super King Air ) was doing circuits during my visit.

Cheers

Re: Interesting half hour

Thanks for your comments everyone , enjoying spotting again and grateful for the support of the people on this forum in getting me back up to speed.

Is it just me or were military planes / helicopters easier to read off in the 80s & 90s ??

Cheers
