Interesting. I was planning a trip tomorrow but perhaps not such a good idea. Ian1963 - how confident are you?

"Here we go again enjoy the fun Dave"
Yeah I like that for an F-35 exercise name.

Re: F35s
Unfortunately, modern military has been on a steady downward trend for years. I hoped for a long time that Classic Jets would fill the gap, but after Shoreham - that seems to have finished too. It's a sad time - the F-35 really does signify the end of an era. How does an decrease in physical flying...

Wow! Taken from the forest entrance? Not often you get to see a special-schemed F-15, especially in good light and banking!
Now for the perennial... when are they leaving!?

Amazing photos.
Such charismatic aircraft all those years ago. Growing up in the '90s I only got to see the tail end of it all; but photo posts like these are just great.

Re: Maverick's Hornet..
These photos are great - please do post more! I'm heading out in a couple of weeks and plan to spend a single day at the Canyon (a Thursday) and then the Friday at Nellis... tempted to spend both days at the Canyon but just no idea what to expect! It seems that the majority of traffic is F/A-18s - i...

Re: F-22s & F/A-18s
Any update on this? Forgive my ignorance but I haven't seen anything obvious in heads-up suggesting the Superhornets have gone.
I plan to take a trip over to Lakenheath tomorrow evening (5pm-ish)... what are my chances of seeing some action!?

Re: CAUTIONARY TALE
Further legislation was not required as a result of the Shoreham crash. Legislation was utterly pointless since the pilot (so it seems) was already breaking the legislation that had already been written! All that is required is a bit more common sense and the acceptance that to get any value from li...

Re: Top fighter
While I know some people like to stick their noses up and say "it's all classified and not relevant so why even discuss it!" I say... "this is interesting so lets speculate!" My feeling is that the F-35 is slightly more technologically advanced in a computing, sensors and avionics sense than the F-2...

Re: RAF Tornado retirement
I definitely don't think its a silly idea.
I think the Swedes have it right.
It's nice that we can see so many flying aircraft from the second world war; but the importance of the Cold War, and in particular its aircraft, is being forgotten far too fast.

Very nice. I'm spending a couple of days at Pima and may head over to try and catch some A-10s. Where were these shots taken from?

Re: RAF Linton-on Ouse & RAF Leeming 12-9-2018
Nice photos Spearhead - although maybe using a slower shutter from the props would make them just a little better :) The F-35 gets a bad name, but I have to say - the prospect of having another fighter in service does make UK spotting that much more exciting (although the Tornados will be gone in no...

Re: Damage to fence near CG1
This is absurd, and appalling. There is simply no justification whatsoever, and it will only cause an end to our hobby.
