I see the four Jaguars on the southside have been noted. These I imagine were those to the left of the hangar. There were two also on the right of the hangar. Anyone know which they were?
Just in case you started to doze off in the Cosford sunshine.. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48039481008_a0c19910e3_b.jpg DEA_7262-2 by Stephen Procter , on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48039477638_c9ea3d23d4_b.jpg DEA_7270 by Stephen Procter , on Flickr https://live.staticflickr...
A quick trip across to Sherburn Airfield to see what visitors the fly-in brought. Highlight of the day was an unexpected low flypast and near touch and go by C-47 42-24064 (N74589) 'Placid Lassie' en-route from Prestwick to Duxford for the 'Daks Over Normandy' event. https://live.staticflickr.com/65...
My first time at RIAT on the Saturday, enjoyed it immensely. Couldn't believe how lucky we were with the weather. I'm not familiar with the orientation of the airfield so am not sure which the 'North' side is. Is this over where the hangars are and all the display teams aircrafts were parked up. Wer...
A few more RIAT shots including a bit of Bastille Day noise from 'Couteau Delta', the Reds departing to Goodwood and a few static bits.. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1790/42835146284_e9b753e3b9_b.jpg Couteau Delta 1 by Stephen Procter , on Flickr https://farm1.staticflickr.com/920/29692782868_ec22...
Thanks for the kind comments. I do enjoy photographing the static items. By their very nature they don't move so I have a game chance of getting a decent snap..! I did take some flying shots but they as usual are OK, nothing to write home about. With so much going on it gets to be a bit of a trade o...
RIAT this year was celebrating 100 years of the RAF, but the Senior Service brought along a few aircraft for the static park......... https://farm1.staticflickr.com/856/42640716985_b297b8f748_b.jpg XX157 by Stephen Procter , on Flickr https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1781/43463237122_fa2d6ef0e5_b.jpg ...
One of the highlights for me on Saturday was the display by Il Freece Tricolori. A very lively and slick display accompanied by an excellent soundtrack which included the splendid Italian national anthem and Pavarotti. Certainly 'Nessun Dorma' whilst they performed... :) https://farm2.staticflickr.c...
First time for me at RIAT on Saturday - what an experience..! Just a quick question. On the far side of the airfield and at down at the end to the right of the flightline, there were an awful lot of aircraft parked up. Is this where all displaying aircraft are kept during the show including the spar...
Discovered last week from the BBMF flypast listing that my little town on the edge of Leeds was to get a visit from their Lancaster on Saturday afternoon. Rothwell St Marys Primary School were having their Summer Fair and had managed to secure a flypast. The school have 'form' in this area having ha...
At the Cosford show there were quite a number of Jaguars on static display around the airfield. Here are a few examples... https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1818/41129396740_0dbdccd2f6_b.jpg XX119 by Stephen Procter , on Flickr https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1787/42221283244_33fba01aec_b.jpg XX725 by S...
Just a few shots of the BBMF Spitfire and the P47 preparing for departure from Cosford at the end of the show. Interesting few minutes flipping between settings to snap these and the Typhoon display which was still ongoing whilst the aircraft were taxying.... https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1790/4212...
