As there was no ground support flown in prior to their arrival, maybe it was just a long overland check run for the German based crews, seeing as Endex was shown as 6 April.

Bev's (aka COAA/PlanePlotter) Sonde Monitor has been very useful for tracking these for years.

When you locate the landing/crashing spot with the app, there is a very useful transmitter :-)
