Re: Airfix Sea Vixen FAW2 and Seafire XVII

Two lovely models - I already have the Vixen in my stash but must add the Seafire XVII. Can I suggest that you post your Seafire pix in slightly higher resolution - suggest 1024 pixels wide as they're not coming out too well at such low res at present - they're clearly sharp but the JPEG compression...

Scotavnet report that it will be based at Inverness for a few weeks.
Does that mean it'll be knackered and partially u/s just like you and me Mike?

Interesting idea - Useful bit of kit to have over a certain dusty place.

Re: 1/48th Sea Prince T1

What a lovely model. I remember these well trundling around the skies over Morayshire in the sixties and just into the seventies. I think they way you have finished it well portrays how it would have looked under the harsh skies and parched environment of Malta.

Well done!

Re: Tamiya Lancaster 1/48

The Tamiya Lancaster has been around for a long time now - 30 years plus I believe - but it's a cracking kit plus there's a lot of after market products available to help super-detail it. I too am looking forward to seeing how this progresses.

Hannants - List of 1:48 Lancaster sets/parts etc.

Re: New releases

My son is really excited over this one - I was very lucky and scored the E-2 in the FC BoMF auction earlier in the year, this will be a nice companion to it and I have some nice reference pix taken at Kinloss a few years back. On the downside, painting 26 passenger seats will be a bit of a bind :hu...

Re: More Indian defence spending, 75 x PC-7's now!

Besides the British Oversees Aid going to India, I wonder how much more UK cash ends up in the Indian economy by way of UK-Indians sending money home, UK-Indian businesses banking in India (there is a lot of this - it aids tax avoidance) etc.?

Re: cockpit fest

That's all well and good, but they aren't pointing at Mr Ork himself ;)

Never mind, I'm pretty Ork-obsessed at present - getting fed-up with the tardiness of resin suppliers, nowt except pylons and tanks for the 1:32 Ork so far.

Re: New releases

I noticed that earlier today - I can't help thinking that it's rather foolhardy releasing after-market add-ons for a kit that hasn't even be acknowledged by Trumpeter, and knowing their track record even if it does show may not be available for several years based upon the example of the 1:32 A-4 ki...

A-4 and Mirage - my guess is Argentina. Also they do describe it as an A-4AR Fighting Hawk.
