What is viewing like at Shawbury?
Viewing is good - but the jets have all been hangared (because of the adverse weather) - it’s thundering like crazy at the moment at at Shawbury.

I live near cosford and keen to know what might fly overhead in the next couple of days, will I see these or not?! Yes you should - and also some practice displays at Cosford on Saturd...

I dont think there is room on the visitors pan for the Germans though?

Who said they would park on the visitors pan?

The last time the P-3 was booked in - it was due to be parked on the Medium Bomber Dispersal - just like the Italian Tornado.

Do any of the locals know if any of these frames are still present?

I’ll be passing by on Monday - and ZG921 is my last AH.9!

I’m told about 1330 - but don’t expect anything official from the Station - they have nothing but contempt for the local community.

Re: Refuelling the F-35 ,when on the QE ?

Think some folks on here are missing the basics... Air Tanker do not operate Harriers - and are extremely unlikely to do so - as we are firmly locked-in to a crap contract! The same reasons apply to the A400M and the reason we can’t refuel our SF Chinooks and Merlins... As usual we’ll be expected to...

Worked at that show as Emergency Services Radio Operator. Had a five minute flip around the local area in the Danish S-61A - it’s now in the museum at Helsingor.

I didn't suggest that they could or should police it. I just suggested it was the ultimate conclusion from your comment about traffic lights. I don't know if the land belongs to farmers, or the government so I can't really comment. I'm sure it could be made much harder to do though if they wanted t...

Sure it started when we bought the C17s, part from that I've no idea lol.
It did - and I believe it was because the original batch of C-17 were 'loans' and not owned outright by the MoD.

Not a local but there is a NOTAM saying Shawbury is closed daily in the mornings until the 16th, don’t know why, might have something to do with the exodus?
.... but more probably a lack of students due to a large proportion of the simulators not working as advertised!

F-15C 166 may be in brackets because you weren't able to positively i/d the serial - 86-0166 was marked up as "48th OG" at that time.

Cheers, ZF.
Thanks ZF - that makes sense!

Early morning on 27th I logged all of these (right on the edge of the ramp - but the safe side of the razor wire!) as I was still serving in the RAF then 492nd - 255, 257, 259, 261, 262, 300, 301, 302, 303, 304, 305, 325 and 329. 494th - 313, 315, 317, 318, 319, 320, 321, 324, 327, 328, 330, 331, 33...

I'm prepared to be proven wrong but I'm calling BS on it being damaged by rounds from the Canon. Just too many things to wrong before you get into a position to fire a weapon system on the ground. I'm no expert on BAF maintenance practices but in the RAF we didn't work on armed aircraft. Any mainte...

And that is entirely my point - how dare they put property and lives at potential risk - and then not have the bollocks to stand-up to their reckless actions?
