Mildenhall Air Fete Book

Dear All, So - firstly an apologies to the administrators if I have posted this in the wrong section (I know this is for photos - please move it if it needs to be elsewhere). Several days ago, one of our fellow posters started a thread on Air Fete memorabilia and suggested a calendar be produced. I ...

RRR491 Gatwick 4th June 2020

So yesterday ZM400 turned up at Gatwick to bash some circuits, today it was the turn of ZM416 as RRR491 and ZM419 as RRR465 (see the Garden spotting section for a photo of the latter) https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49971453557_deb14423fe_b.jpg ZM416-A400M-LGW-040620 by Jon Wickenden , on Flickr...

Re: Market Research - Mildenhall Air Fete Calendar

My over riding memory of air feet was how, on the burger stalls, when they had a flame up and the meat was getting burnt to a crisp, they would remedy the problem by beating the flames back with a judiciously sprayed can of Budweiser. What could be better? A BBQ and beer burger ! On a more serious n...

RRR488 Gatwick 3rd June 2020

Not particularly exciting in the scheme of things (and the first dull day in ages didn't help matters) but Grizzly ZM400 - call sign RRR488 - made 4 approaches to Londons favourite airport this morning, before shooting more approaches at Southend and, finally, at Norwich, before returning to Brize. ...

Re: Garden spotting OTT'ers

LGW doesn't get too many military visitors, but since the COVID 19 restrictions we have seen approaches made by RAF C17, A400M, BAE146, Navy Wildcats and today, an RAF Chinook 1 Calling SHF557, ZA683 came from the southwest and then made an approach on 26L before heading away to Biggin Hill. Re: IAT RAF Greenham Common 1977 Part 2

The Islander was the company demonstrator at the time...it ended up being delivered to a civilian operator in 1978. However, looking at the insignia I wonder if those are Nigerian markings? Also, learnt something from these photos.....My first Greenham was '79....didn't realise the French still had ...

Museo Storico dell' Aeronautica Militare - Vigni di Valle - Part 3

When I posted the first part of this thread I said there would be three posts, however, having reviewed the number of post WWII aircraft in the collection, I've decided that I overestmated and am now going to have to spread the photos over 4 posts. So then, this one covers types on display that orig...

Museo Storico dell' Aeronautica Militare - Vigni di Valle

For those of you who haven't visited, the Italian Air Force Museum is located on the shores of Lake Braccianno, in the old seaplane station of Vigna di Valle, about 40 miles, north west of Rome. I visited in Summer 2010 and I have to say it was one of the best kept collections I have ever seen. The ...
