Re: Sunny Leuchars,30.09.10 (Morning)

Hi 'Unknown', yes, if I'm reading 'ukmil's post correctly, it would appear that 6 have not been operating since their arrival and are maybe starting today (Friday) ?

Sunny Leuchars,30.09.10 (Morning)

Hi folks, with today forecast as our sunny one for the week, I decided to head for Leuchars. Nothing much happened 'till about 10, when 111 launched four jets over the next 45 mins or so. 3 Navy 'junglies' arrived from the north and a XV Sqn jet did a flythrough.......then the wind changed ! Oh well...

Re: KC-10A at Prestwick 24.09.10

Lots of ex BA Tristar airframes available at the time, If I remember correctly. Really nice set of photos, the last one is a cracker. Also the Marshaller gives a real sense of how big KC10s really are! Cheers, Stig Cheers Stig, I think some are ex- Pan Am too (the C 2/A's ?), but I suppose the same...

Hi all, got a bit of a 'thing' for the old Extender, so when 87-0117 of the 60th AMW called in at PIK.......time for another visit. :D I just find it one of those aircraft that looks good from a photographic standpoint and almost any angle....so here are a selection from today's departure to illustr...

Re: Herculean Friday at Prestwick.

Thanks Jamie.

Just as a footnote, it would appear the fith Herc (85-0037) decided not to go and has since been joined by a C-21A (84-0118) and two C-23As (40310 and 31321), with thanks to PAMG for this info. :D

Herculean Friday at Prestwick.

Evening all, it has been some time since I took a trip down to PIK, so, when I saw that no less than five US Herc's (all C-130Hs) were overnighting......well, what more excuse ? :D In numerical order.....here are four of these workhorses departing, 85-0035 of 357th AS,AFRC. http://i122.photobucket.c...

Mississippi C-17 at Edinburgh

Hi folks, with thanks to Andy (AV8 images) for the 'heads up', I was able to catch 96-0007 on a 3 hour (ish) turnaround at EDI today. The blustery nature of the weather kept me guessing (did for the arrival ! :@ ), but relented enough for the departure ! http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...

Re: Jordanian Government A.318CJ at Edinburgh.

Hi chaps, thanks for the comments. As far as I am aware it brought in members of the Jordanian Royal family for a visit to the Festival and Tattoo (where the Jordanian Army is performing). As to the choice of a/c, I assume it has as much to do with the number and 'status' of the passengers as anythi...

Jordanian Government A.318CJ at Edinburgh.

Hi folks, this is one of those a/c that just squeaks in (I think....Mods feel free to remove :D ) as 'qualifying' for this section. Bringing in a party of Jordanian VIPs to Scotland's capital today (18th), was Airbus A.318-112CJ Elite VQ-BDD operated by the Jordanian Government. A sunny afternoon......
