Pitch trim

Just looking for a little help on something, folks. Quite new to FSX and when going through the startup checklist for the Just Flight Tornado GR1, you require to trim the pitch up by 2 notches, otherwise the aircraft pitches down during flight which is really annoying. Could somebody advise how to d...

The Families Day is on 05 August. Looks as though there is a three ship flypast of the based squadrons planned too.

Re: More GR4 Repaints for JF Tornado GR1!

That XV Disbandment Scheme repaint is stunning. Love the detail with the original MacRobert's Reply crew names on the fuselage. Is this going to be made available on Flightsim.com at some stage?

Re: XV(R) Squadron final sortie 17/03/2017

I believe that they will likely depart as singletons, as and when depending on serviceability, operational needs within Marham squadrons or sadly RTP at Leeming. I'd imagine there won't be any other big flypasts by XV(R), with a Marham squadron doing the business next Friday.

Re: XV(R) Squadron final sortie 17/03/2017

There was a cracker of a video someone posted on Facebook of a swept wing low pass. Other than that, haven't seen much. Noticed a couple of the jets had Litening pods on. Wonder if they caught some decent footage!

Re: XV(R) Squadron final sortie 17/03/2017

I think we would all say that it would be great to have one flying on the display circuit for years to come, however we can only dream of such things. It was bad enough that they pulled the Tornado Role Demo from the airshow circuit, which itself was a really dynamic display. We'll just need to enjo...

Re: XV(R) Squadron final sortie 17/03/2017

Hi Unknown74. It was also my luckiest shot ever. The camera was struggling to focus due to the poor light / poor photographer combination and it just sorted itself at the very last minute! Another split second and the chance would have gone. I'd like to think there was some coffee spillage involved ...

Re: XV(R) Squadron final sortie 17/03/2017

Thanks! I'm just glad that in this digital age, kids are still keen to pick up crayons, pens or pencils and actually draw things! We have a nice little of collection of drawings at home too. XV(R) Squadron are actually the custodians of the original crayon drawing he did for the competition, which h...

Yes CosmonautX, the Callum is very much a relation! Proud dad moment seeing his drawing make the shortlist. He's always had a real attention to detail when drawing aircraft.

XV(R) Squadron final sortie 17/03/2017

Sad and reflective day at RAF Lossiemouth with the upcoming disbandment of XV(R) Squadron after 23 years at the base. Amazing to see so many people turn out for the spectacle, and what a spectacle it was starting with the four ship line up at the end of runway 23 with max dry thrust to awaken the ea...

Re: Aviation Books to read

An excellent book I've just finished is 'MacRobert's Reply' by Philip Hamlyn Williams with Philip Jeffs (the son of Donald Jeffs, the sole survivor of the Short Stirling 'MacRobert's Reply' shot down over Denmark). With the upcoming disbandment of XV(R) Squadron, this book has taken on an increased ...

Visit to XV(R) Squadron - 22/02/2017

Incredibly privileged to have been invited along to visit this wonderful squadron and to see the magnificent Tornado GR4 up close for probably the last time at Lossiemouth. To see a snapshot of how the squadron operates from sortie planning to ground crew preparation and aircrew preparation to take ...

Re: Aviation Books to read

I picked up 'Tornado Boys' by Ian Hall and like the 'Lightning/Jaguar/Buccaneer etc Boys' titles, it is excellent. Done in a chronological format starting with the development flights through to fairly recent operations, the accounts from various pilots/WSOs/ground crew give a broad experience of th...
