Re: Lakenheath "Excalibur VII"

Certainly was a good time for spotting, then unfortunately for our hobby a “wall”, came down and it was downhill from then on. At least the same wall coming down meant a safer and brighter Europe for tens of millions, until some eejit in Russia decided he wanted to turn the clock back to the dark ag...

Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024

Weren’t the 12 spotters arrested during the Patron Day open base events, after going off on their own and I believe forced access into one of the hangars( not sure how true that is?). So even during open/spotter days you have to abide by the rules or face serious consequences and we aren’t talking a...

Not teaching people how to suck eggs, just bringing to people’s attention of the entry requirements for Greece, which state your passport must be no older than 10yrs on date of arrival into country and be valid for 3 months after your departure date.I think the rest of the EU is the same. The 3 mont...

Re: Fire alarms Safety???

I have a smoke alarm, we'll known brand in front of me right now that has a replace date of Feb 2027 that keeps chirping even after the battery has been replaced with the exact 9V battery specified and the voltage tested with a multi meter. I also had a similar issue with a non replaceable battery ...

Re: Reds to Lossie?

I’ve seen mention on other sites that it was two formations that headed North today? I saw the formation of 5 a/c that went past Inverness at 1029 as per the 2nd NOTAM, was there another formation before that?

Re: Fire alarms Safety???

We test ours regularly and they are fine just very slow to react to smoke and heat. In that case they aren’t fine. I’m assuming you test them by means of the “test” button on the actual detector, all that does is tell you the sounder works, it doesn’t tell you if the actual detector works, to test ...

Re: Fire alarms Safety???

Although the SNP were/are in power when this became law it wasn’t them that decided on what standards should be followed and met. As for installation and location of detectors there is right way and a wrong way. If the one nearest the wood burner didn’t activate I would be asking myself, why not? Is...

Re: Thessaloniki Airport 11 Feb 2024

The roundel and fin flash are clearly seen(although blurred), on the CL-415’s in the above picture, the serial on the tail is totally obscured by the mini fin on the horizontal stabiliser or whatever the proper name is for it.

Re: Thessaloniki Airport 11 Feb 2024

I’m counting 5 x F-5’s in the second pic, also don’t think the serials are blacked out on the -415’s it’s just a poor picture.

Re: US and Britain to conduct airstrikes

Houthis managed to scratch a Saudi Tornado back in 2020, can’t remember if the crew survived. Im sure they lost a typhoon on ops as well in 2017. Was put down to technical error. A second Tornado from memory, not aware of them loosing a Typhoon on ops 13 September 2017 – An RSAF Eurofighter Typhoon...
