As they are night flying next week,how do Fridays usually work out ? I ask because I have Friday off work and I was thinking of heading up there for at least half a day.I know they stop flying around lunch time on Fridays so will that be it by Thursday night or do they revert back to days for Friday...

One of the best shows at Cosford in years.Did one of the Reds mess the heart up or was it something else they were trying to create ?

I left Cosford at 4.45 today and nothing had validated by then so I expect it will be busy tomorrow.Cloudbase looked a bit low today.

It seems you have the incorrect airfield opening times for Cosford-10.00 -18.00 Friday and 12.00-19.00 Saturday.Info posted on UKAR.

It's opens at 1400 ON Saturday indeed. Also got told today the reds will park on the West side over the Shawbury airfield this year.

Thanks for that,I didn't think it would so soon after arriving.Probably just familiarising with the airfield.Hopefully catch it tomorrow afternoon or Saturday.I think Cosford airfield opens at 14.00 hrs on both days.

MIG29 105 arrived at 16.20 local and after a practice display routine landed around 16.30 with engines off at 16.40. Parked on the south-east apron. Are you sure that it did validate at Cosford or just familiarising with the airfield ?I guess if it was a validation then it won't do another on Frida...

Rafale display team have tweeted 'See you on the 9th and 10th' which would suggest they are validating sometime on Saturday.

Any news yet on which day all the International aircraft will validate? It's been on the Friday afternoon in the past.

Friday and Saturday.

Everything has been up apart from the Dakota which has gone unserviceable.BBMF are all now back in their hangar.

Heading up to CBY tomorrow,booked day off work so hope it's not canned until Wednesday,fingers crossed.

Can anyone confirm if the mound has been open during Typhoon/BBMF work up displays so far?I watched a practice display from Old Fen Lane last year.This will be my first trip up to Coningsby this year so many thanks in advance.

Apparently they were told if they were to open,all access roads leading to Rhymes would be shut so no one could get to it unless they were on foot. I was told they now operate a field on the South side which RIAT offered them by way of compensation for keeping Rhymes shut.

Only closed on days when displays are taking place then by the looks of it.Not heard anything official yet though.
