Re: Aftermarket batteries- Cannon
I used 7DayShop batteries in my 20D and 40D and never had an issue. Nowadays I've got 1 Canon battery that came with the R6 but I pretty much only use Neewer in the grip as you get a pack of 2 and a USB charger for about £60. As yet I've not had a problem in over a year of use.

Re: Shooting aircraft in flight with an R series body & lens...
Thanks very much Paul, much appreciated, I'll give those suggestions a going over as soon as I can. For this instance I'm not sure calibration will be of much use as I've had plenty of results when photographing various 'animals' that are just as good in terms of sharpness and detail as the 300 2.8 ...

Shooting aircraft in flight with an R series body & lens...
Having changed systems last year to drop a load of camera weight due to my temperamental back I was stunned by the R6 and 100-500 combo for shooting animals and birds. Having missed RIAT and not pointed it at any aircraft other than a few Buffs overhead on their return to FFD last year, I took it wi...

Caser RSAF Typhoons arrival at Coningsby 27.02.23
By sheer accident I was due nearby on Sunday night so extended the stay to try to take in the Saudi Typhoon arrival. Weather was not playing ball and neither was the end result of the 100K hours canard aircraft that looked good on the camera screen only to get it back home and find it blurred to use...

Re: Coningsby 2023 “scheduled night flying”
In all seriousness though, does night flying mean there's absolutely NO daytime stories at all as if that's the case I may as well rearrange my day completely.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Advice on assorted Die Cast models & unmade Airfix kits please...
Dear all, I would very much appreciate a few pointers regarding the below die-cast models and model kits I have been asked to find homes for as part of my in-laws' house clearance. The temptation is eBay to make things simple but given the number of model enthusiasts on the forum I thought I'd try h...

We're (currently) with Parcelforce at work but a day before one of their strikes we had an email saying all regular collections had been stopped that day. We managed to book all of our parcels for that day onto DPD so they were with customers the day after. The day after however they too had stopped...

Ah yes, woke up to the inevitable English batting collapse!! :D :D :D One another tack, can anyone explain why after "batter" was introduced :( and forced upon us, the commentary team yesterday were using the terms "fieldsman" !! It's always been "fielder" which has no gender-base whatsoever :S :S

Re: Canon R7 focusing
The other important setting to be aware of (which I learnt the hard way about) is to make sure that "Lens Drive when AF impossible" is set to ON. I think the default is OFF and I ruined a lot of photos on Skye for a week with the 100-500 not getting to grips with things and not continuing to hunt fo...

Playing with animal AI and electronic shutters.
Having read a lot about "rolling shutter distortion" when using an electronic shutter with fast action I decided to try it for myself ahead of a weekend photographing the Cross Country at Blenheim Palace Horse Trials. Pleased to say that Pixie, the mad Collie, was the perfect model and put the gear ...
